As recorded on Cuarentena, With Family at Home, “#22” is a song written by my father, Jay Daversa. The melody is singable and infectious. Inside information: the actual title is “#9”, but at the time of the recording, we thought is was “#19”! The majority of my father’s music does not have titles, they are all merely numbered. The arrangement begins simply and softly. There is an extended tag at the end of the first melody, leading into the trumpet solo which eventually modulates to F and morphs into a slow Salsa feel. The piano solo picks up the form and Salsa feel in the key of F and gradually quickens the tempo (to 160 BPM) and modulates up another while step to the key of G.
