As recorded on Wobbly Dance Flower, “You Got a Puppy?!” is a fast swing romp over a (deceptively difficult) 5-bar phrase melody. The origin of the melody was an old, fun, Christmas-esque song idea of mine from many, many years ago. My folks called one day and surprised us with the news that they had gotten a puppy. This news immediately reminded me of this old silly melody and made me think of a puppy playfully scampering around the house!
