Wobbly Dance Flower

As recorded on Wobbly Dance Flower, the title track “Wobbly Dance Flower” is a fun, simple melodic jazz merengue with an arrangement full of subtle surprises. One day I came home and told my 6-year old daughter, “I’m writing this tune, and I don’t know what to call it”. She replied without batting an eye, “Oh, Daddy, call it Wobbly Dance Flower!”. Well, that was it. The most randomly, brilliant, perfectly-fitting instrumental song title—and then it became the name of the album.
The form is AABA:CCAD. The is ample improvisational space for the trumpet, tenor saxophone, and drums.
