America the Beautiful

As recorded on American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom, America the Beautiful features the solo trumpet throughout. The arrangement is inspired by Billy Byers’ classic big band arrangement of All of Me, as performed by the Count Basie Orchestra. However, with this arrangement, the trumpet plays the role of Basie’s sparse piano melodies, and the meter is 5/4. The ending features a chorale of the melody with optional choir.
