Kaleidoscope Medley
As recorded on Kaleidoscope Eyes: Music of The Beatles, Kaleidoscope Eyes Medley opens with a sentimental jazz ballad rendition of With a Little Help from My Friends in ¾. This segues into a time-warping reimagination of Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, which provides ample solo space for a drum solo vamp. After a brief foreshadowing of I am the Walrus, the choir take over on Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) mostly in its original form. The medley closes with a nod to the deconstruction of I am the Walrus, including Shakespeare quotations, white noise, and climaxing improvised chaos, sneaking in a few final quotes from All You Need Is Love, She Loves You, and A Day in the Life. The medley is intended to be the closing selection of the entire Kaleidoscope Eyes: Music of The Beatles program.
